When it comes to studying abroad, many students are terrified of international education costs or the money they need to cover their expenses while they are residing in that country. As scary as it is for some students, it does not necessarily mean they are facing a dead-end. Many universities, including average ones, provide funding opportunities or scholarships to qualified students. Depending on the type of these scholarships, students need to either apply for them separately or apply for their desired course, and the scholarship is applied to them automatically as well. The amounts of scholarships vary, and not all students will receive the same. Here Radviser will go through some well-known scholarships that different countries and universities provide for their students who need financial support for their tuition fees, living expenses, or allowances. Let’s begin.
1. Fulbright Scholarship – United States
This scholarship is offered to 4,000 international students studying in the United States. It goes without saying that receiving this scholarship is no easy task, and to receive it, you must be qualified. Students from more than 140 countries can apply for this scholarship, and those who succeed in their application will receive enough funds to cover both their tuition fees and living expenses. Other groups, such as artists, researchers, and teachers, are considered eligible to apply as well, as long as they have studied in the United States for at least a year.
2. Chevening Scholarship – United Kingdom
A fully funded scholarship option is provided by the UK for international students studying a course within the UK. The course length that the student is studying must be over one year, and they must provide their offer of admission when applying to receive the scholarship. This scholarship covers all the tuition fees and living costs of the student, but having two years of experience is a must-have to receive it. Moreover, the student must be from a country eligible to receive the Chevening scholarship. Therefore, if you aren’t from one of the eligible countries, don’t bother to apply.

4. Commonwealth Scholarship – United Kingdom

High proficiency in the English language and having grades higher than 70% are both essential to being eligible to apply.
5. Endeavour Postgraduate Awards - Australia
The Australian government provides this scholarship for international students from eligible countries who want to study in either master's or Ph.D. level programs. It doesn’t matter what your program type is since both research and course-based programs are considered eligible as long as they are 4 or more years in length.
6. Eiffel Excellence Scholarship – France
This scholarship is provided to international students who want to study either a master’s or doctoral joint program within France. This scholarship does not cover tuition fees and instead covers allowances and other fees to make things relatively easier for the student.

7. Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarships – Canada
This one is provided for Ph.D. students who study in the field of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Business School majors. Students' research must be in fields of human rights, citizenship, natural environment, etc., to be eligible for this scholarship.
The most important thing that you have to keep in mind while applying for a scholarship is that you need to be sure you are eligible for that scholarship. Otherwise, you will be wasting your time while waiting to hear back about your applications. GPA and English language proficiency are essential, and you cannot expect to receive a fully funded scholarship with an overall IELTS score of 4.5.
The scholarships you can apply for are way more than the ones we covered here. Take time to research, prepare a well-written CV and SoP, and make your application as strong as possible so that the chances of receiving one of these scholarships increase for you.
